Transportation is an essential industry.
Your role plays a critical part requiring you to have excellent communication, organization, multitasking skills to engage your diesel technicians, maintain good morale among your team and keep customers happy.
You will be responsible for planning and implementing methods and procedures in an efficient, economical manner with profit objectives in mind using the latest computer technology to aid in accomplishing these goals.
Daily Routine
Fully supervise shop operations, customer & driver contact, scheduling, and maintenance
Duties
• Prioritize and assign work for repairs and routine maintenance.
• Work closely and respond quickly to the operations department.
• Assist the safety manager in the investigation, reporting, initiation and corrective action for accidents, job related injuries, employee issues.
• Establish and maintain communication with external and internal customers.
• Negotiate pricing for parts, external labor, repair, and estimates.
• Service Reports
• Assist with training, development, and evaluations of maintenance personnel.
• Recruit, qualify, interview, hire personnel.
• Adhere to company safety practices, DOT, EPA, OASHA Standards
Qualifications
Experience of Fleet maintenance management or a strong background in team management/price negotiation and cost analysis considered.
Tractor and trailer maintenance and practices
Computer skills
