As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee our scrap yard operations.
*Position Overview: *We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our scrap yard operations.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe handling of scrap metal materials, managing a team of warehouse and yard workers, and implementing process improvements to optimize productivity and profitability.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the scrap yard, including receiving, sorting, processing, and shipping scrap metal materials.
* Manage a team of yard workers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
* Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
* Coordinate with sales and procurement teams to meet customer demands and optimize inventory levels.
* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
* Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing operational performance, trends, and forecasts.
* Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
* *Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the recycling or scrap metal industry.

* Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and best practices in scrap yard operations.
* Experience with operating and maintaining heavy equipment utilized in scrap yard industry.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
