Value-driven opportunity for GIS Project Manager with stable Rolla, MO based federal client providing GIS data validation services to benefit the data build process.
This project lead position is a permanent stable position and ideal for someone with the requisite GIS proficiency who can supervise employees and knowledgeable engage with stakeholders.
The federal client here purchases vast quantities of commercial data, but not all of the data it receives as part of that purchase meets the data quality standards required.
This project does data validation and also data “cleanup” for legacy data that was received by not paid for, turning it into usable information.
Data types include hydrographic, elevation, and Trials data for inclusion into the national map.
As the project lead you would supervise an internal team of 15 as well as engage with government stakeholders in 3 different areas of interest.
This is a project that’s “good for everyone” good for the company, good for the government, and good for the taxpayer turning yesterday’s unusable into valuable foundational data for GIS projects across the nation.
Required Proficiencies
* *Must have GIS knowledge and background in hydrography, elevation data, and/or transportation layers*
* 3-5 years of supervisory experience with a concentration in project management, GIS data projects strongly preferred
* Background with GIS data cleanup, point mensuration
* Basic knowledge of ESRI Suite of Products (Yes this will be migrating to ArcPro
* Knowledge of Scripting languages is a plus for the automation of tasks
Basic Qualifications
* Clean background and record must be a US Citizen or have been a lawful permanent resident the last 3 years
* 5-7 years overall Geospatial Information Systems knowledge
* College Degree preferred but acceptable experience maybe substituted in lieu of this requirement
