Responsibilities:
Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Room patients and obtain vital signs
Assist with assessments by collecting basic health date of patients presenting to the clinic or via phone
Document and report results of findings and health information and share with patients and attending physician
Assist with a variety of procedures and exams, as well as functions of diagnostic equipment (including printouts)
Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures, and medications to be administered
Scribe provider dictation into electronic health records as directed by providers and assist providers with viewing and electronically signing documents
Evaluate and clarify patient’s understanding of treatment plan and/or follow-up instructions
Assist with registration, phone calls, scanning and other clinic work as needed and assigned
Be available to provider(s) throughout a full schedule of seeing patients and be able to accurately scribe provider’s dictation and orders
Provide patient care and patient care management during patient visit and on follow-up
May be required to administer vaccinations or non-prescription medications, change bandages and/or would dressings
Skills and Abilities:
Current Missouri license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Minimum three (3) years as an LPN in a clinical setting
Current BLS and ACLS certification; PEDS certification preferred
Must successfully complete generic and department-specific skills, validation, and competency testing
Critical thinking skills a must
Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail and maintain a positive attitude
Must be able to represent ICMC in a positive, respectful, and professional manner at all times and comply with ALL organization’s policies and procedures, including facility “Code of Ethics and Business Conduct”; ability to maintain compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations
Must be physically able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist and turn, push and pull – sometimes from awkward positions – safely; ability to safely lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
and assist with moving patients up to 300 pounds; vision, hearing and dexterity skills must be within normal limits
Effective verbal communication skills a must, including correct and appropriate use of medical terminology
Positive attitude, respectful, courteous and tactful to patients, team members and ICMC staff at all times
