Job Summary: Perform basic chemical processes under the direct supervision of the Chem Processing Supervisor, Chem Processing Lead or qualified trainer.
Perform noncomplex racking techniques and unracking operations unsupervised.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Read and understand work order requirements.
Identify parts with printed and/or electronic pictures.
Solvent-clean parts prior to processing.
Brush conversion coating.
Process Chromate Conversion Coating, and Pre-Penetrant Etch.
Rack, unrack, and process all products in such a manner to prevent damage.
Ensure all equipment is in adequate working condition.
Operate drying ovens.
Other Job Duties include but are not limited to: Operate pallet jacks and forklift, with appropriate certification.
Operate weight scales to verify quantities.
Keep Chemical Process area clean and organized per company Ultraclean/6S requirements.
Observe safety requirements and use all required safety equipment.
Handles customer-supplied product with care.
Maintain and reinforce Sonaca’s quality standards to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Available to work overtime when required, including weekends.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Chem Processing Lead and Supervisor.
Qualifications: High School diploma or High School Equivalency required.
Ability to read and comprehend American English is required.
Previous experience in Basic Chemical Processing is desired.
Ability to learn, use, and become proficient in Work Order Tracking System Application of basic math skills is required.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions is required.
Attention to detail is required.
Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements: This position will require an employee to work in both a factory and office environment.
The site will contain mobility barriers with uneven ground-level and obstructed pathways.
Climatic and environmental conditions at the job site will be indoor/outdoor climate with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
The work environment characteristics described above are representative of what an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
The employee must be able to perform the following physical requirements effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must have ability to bend, twist and stretch arms above head and walk or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 40 pounds safely.
For lifting over 40 pounds, use the buddy system or proper equipment, i.

, dollies, hand truck, hoists, forklift.
Must be able to push and pull heavy racks.
Required to move parts in and out of ovens at accelerated temperatures up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
Must have standard visual acuity (correctable by prescription glasses or contacts meets the requirement) and have the ability to distinguish colors.
Must have sufficient hand/eye coordination.
Hearing with or without correction is required.
