Position Purpose:
This position requires excellent communication skills and an ability to facilitate education groups for adults.
This person must be able to function as a Behavioral Health Technician as needed.
This job classification is covered under the agency’s Exposure Control Plan.
Employees in this job classification may reasonably anticipate being occupationally exposed to infectious materials.
Regular and consistent attendance is an essential job function.
Employees in this position are required to apply for Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) credential within 60 days.
This position may require overtime.
Qualifications:
Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health gives hiring preference to applicants who achieve National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).
To receive NCRC, interested applicants must contact a Missouri Career Center.
Associate degree and general experience in non-medical social services, or two years post-secondary education with one-year experience in non-medical social services or equivalent experience in education/training.
A Class E Driver’s License may be required or can be obtained shortly after being hired.
The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds is required.
Current certification in CPR/First Aid may be required.
A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in groups and public settings is essential.
Must respect and maintain confidentiality of all aspects of client treatment.
Must pass background check provided for the agency by the U.
S.
Department of Justice and the Family Care Safety Registry which includes the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health and Department of Health and Senior Services.
Must not be on any “do not hire” list with the Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Division of Family Services.
Must have reliable transportation.
