Purebred Anatolian shepherd male, 8 months old.
His parents are working livestock guardian dogs on a farm.
He was born and raised for his first three months outdoors with the livestock.
He is good with kids, cats, and dogs.
I would not advise young kids because he could knock them over accidentally.
But he has been raised around my young toddler, and is very conscious of his movements around my son and is incredibly gentle.
He has done a great job looking after our penned chickens.
He is outdoors and prefers to be that way, except for cold nights.
When in the house he is 100% housebroken.
He has acceptable house manners.
But as a young large breed puppy, he still tries to chew things up and will get into unattended bags, things like that.
He will go into a crate when directed to, and will not whine or complain.
Anatolian shepherds, are known to bark quite a bit, which he does outdoors to board off predators.
.
But once inside, and through the night, he does not bark at all.
He does not need a fence or tie out once properly acclimated to an environment, he has never wandered far from the house.
He is smart around cars, but we live well removed from any busy streets.
We are rehoming him through no fault of his own.
Our tiny dog keeps going after him, and we are afraid that the Anatolian Shepherd could inadvertently harm him.
He would do really well carrying out what his breed intends, guarding livestock, and alerting of dangers.
He’s really truly an awesome dog.
He is up-to-date on vaccinations, and current with flea/tick/heartworm medication.
He will come with his remaining food, a few months supply of the mentioned medications, and his favorite toys.
You are free to take his extra large crate as well, but I think he will outgrow it before long.
He’s supposed to be about 150 pounds full-grown.
He’s somewhere around 100 pounds right now.
Anatolian are definitely not a breed for just anybody.
Our priority is that he goes to home perfect for him.
Rehoming fee applies.
