Position Details Position Information Position Title Grants Manager PIN 798000 Classification Summary The Grants Manager is responsible for the oversight of the college’s grants management system, which includes the management of pre- and post-award functions.
Major responsibilities include grant research and writing, grant program implementation, coordination and oversight of activities to ensure award compliance.
The position works closely with the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Equity to ensure the college is securing external resources to support the mission and priorities of the institution.
As a member of the Institutional Effectiveness and Equity Resources (InstEER) team, this position will spearhead Grants and Sponsored Programs areas and assist with other InstEER functions.
This position is grant-funded.
Continued employment contingent upon maintaining grant funding.
Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Three years of related professional experience including a minimum of one year of grant writing, grant compliance, or grant management experience.
Familiarity with grant application procedures and requirements for government and private funding sources.
Experience in technical, grant, or research-based writing of proposals and/or reports.
Experience and comfort working in deadline-driven environments.
Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
At least two years of grant writing, grant compliance, or grant management experience.
Ability to research, synthesize, and write for a number of audiences and purposes.
Experience with planning and assessment software, or grant management software.
Familiarity with federal funding guidelines and electronic proposal submissions.
Demonstrated ability to develop, secure, and manage foundation, state/local, or federal grant awards.
Experience working in a post-secondary higher education setting.
Licensing Requirements Essential Job Function These are the job duties that are required of the position.
Classification Duties Coordinate a comprehensive grant development program including grant prospect research and all pre- and post-award activity.
(C4) Develop and maintain internal processes, procedures, and resources in the college’s grant management system to facilitate grant development and management and to ensure grant deadlines are met and major milestones are reached as outlined in approved grant proposals.
(C4) Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all tasks related to submitting college grant funding proposals, including letters of inquiry, outlines, proposals, budgets, and grant narratives.
(B2) Provide grant oversight to ensure programmatic functions comply with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, including assisting with the development of materials to facilitate grant implementation, administration, and compliance.
(C4) Coordinate the college’s online grants management system which tracks grant opportunities in alignment with college priorities and encompasses pre- and post-award activity, such as monitoring of project funding and operational status.
(B2) Oversee and research potential funding sources, application procedures, and deadlines to allow evaluation of prospective funding opportunities, and track and maintain information in a grant database.
(B2) Prepare and submit internal and external reports as required by system and/or awarding agencies.
(B2) Manage private, state and federal grant budgets and allowable expenditures in collaboration with grant financial personnel; and, provide regular updates to the college’s grant and finance offices on the progress of grant applications and funded grant programs.
(B2) Develop an annual grant application calendar and track all outgoing grant proposals with funding statuses.
(B2) Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.
