Position Summary
Recruit students, provide new and continuing students with comprehensive information; design, promote and coordinate MAC student activities, market MAC to all college constituents.
Key Performance Indicators Date, number of attendees, type of student event Volume, date and location of recruiting visits (high schools, college fairs, community events) Analysis and recommendations to improve registration census data when reviewing each semester compared to last year Tracking and analysis of application statistics, including metrics percentage of applicants who enroll Volume, date and number of campus tour attendees Research and recommend new venues for student recruitment Essential Functions Serve as the public relations and information liaison with public and private school systems in the college service area.
Develop, promote and coordinate student activities including intramural, recreational programs and special events such as festivals, blood drives, movie nights, etc.
Promote and support campus clubs and organizations.
Oversee the Student Activities Committee.
Maintain an up to date calendar of events and accurate records of student activities.
Develop and implement student engagement programs with emphasis on special populations (minorities, nontraditional, homeschool, etc.
) Meet with high school students (in person, group, phone, email, and/or web) to discuss access to college and its programs.
Conduct high school visits and college fairs.
Report on effectiveness of visits.
Build positive relationships with high school counselors supplying them with college materials such as catalogs and other publications and keeping them informed of program and course changes.
Conduct evening meetings and weekend events to meet the needs of local schools, students and families.
Follow up with student inquiries (via mail, email, phone, chat, etc.
) Coordinate and conduct campus visits and tours for prospective students, including scheduling, contacting advisors, posting student’s name on TV outside of Student Services, and following up with an email/survey after the visit.
Oversee student ambassadors including hiring, training, scheduling and supervising ambassadors for campus tours and events.
Serve on Enrollment Management Committee and Student Involvement Committee.
Assist in the development and design of college promotions and marketing projects such as the View Book, evaluating their effectiveness.
Assist with all student recruitment and other tasks and activities, as requested by the Dean of Students or the Director of Admissions.

Skill in public speaking and public relations techniques.
Interpersonal skills: Excellent communication and public relations skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people at all levels within the institution and externally.
Ability to communicate well with a variety of people including co-workers and staff of external agencies.
Ability to write and edit effective publications, speeches, news media materials and reports.
Technical skills: Ability to operate computer equipment effectively utilizing word processing, data base, and reporting software.
Knowledge of budget preparation and basic accounting principles Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Work Experience: Two years of directly related full-time work experience including marketing presentations, program management, supervision and budget accountability.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in higher education preferred Work Environment and Physical Requirements Working in a professional educational and office environment this position requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, light lifting, grasping, talking, seeing, hearing and repetitive motion including assisting with event set up and clean up.
Ability to speak clearly to large and small groups, stand for long periods of time during presentations, walk up and down stairs indoors and outdoors while giving campus tours.
Public contact position requiring appropriate businesslike apparel.
Responsibilities frequently require adjustments to work schedule involving early mornings, evenings, and weekend hours and the ability to travel throughout the college service area for recruiting.
