The Production Supervisor is responsible to ensure each line runs smoothly, efficiently and with high quality during his/her assigned shift.
This person will have oversight for safety, interfacing with support functions, mechanical issues, set ups and changeovers.
This person must have excellent communication skills as he/she will provide frontline leadership support.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assists and supports Production Manager and Plant Manager in all aspects.
Supervises a team of operations personnel.
Provide leadership across all shifts directed at continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.
Develop flexibility in shift team members through cross training.
Focus on team engagement to achieve continuous improvement in both production efficiency and changeover completion.
Perform physical audits of the production work performed, monitoring against productivity and quality standards, and informing leadership of all issues/concerns.
Facilitate training for shift members.
Promote a positive and productive team environment, leading by example.
Ensure good housekeeping throughout the shift, initiating and following lean practices.
Focus on maintaining scheduling requirements, communicating issues in a timely manner.
Provide performance feedback regarding team members to individuals for corrective coaching and management.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED; college coursework a plus
Minimum two (2) years in a similar role
Familiarity with production processes, particularly in aerosol manufacturing
Lean Concept Training (5S, Kaizen, etc.
)
Previous job trainer experience a plus
