The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical solutions to operations sustainability and optimization problems.
Apply professional project management rigor to develop, plan, and implement capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
This position is located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss, MO.
Primary Responsibilities: Develop small to medium scope, predominantly single discipline projects through design and development process, planning and implementation via professional project management processes and procedures.
Apply project management rigor to deliver CAPEX initiatives in accordance with budgetary and timeline requirement through a gated approval process.
Full project responsibilities to deliver project benefits and oversight for technical content, focused on scope, cost, time, safety, and stakeholder management.
Act as a liaison and coordinator between internal and external project members, managing third party performance and expectations.
Provide plant engineering services to improve sustainability and address optimization concerns as identified by operating properties.
Provide solutions to special group initiatives beyond expected engineering service and not governed by project management protocol, usually on a high priority basis.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, mechanical, civil, electrical, construction management or other related discipline required.
2 years providing technical solutions and project administration in the industrial sector, including mining, construction, oil & gas, manufacturing preferred.
Project Management Professional certification preferred.
Valid, current driver’s license Skills, Abilities, Knowledge: Standard office software such as MS office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Project management software, such as MS project, Primavera P6 or other similar product or ability to learn.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Knowledge of project management methodologies or ability to learn.
Ability to gain support and compliance from project members.
Attention to detail.
Tenacity to drive to solutions.
Ability to think and act proactively to move a project forward.
Work Environment & Physical Responsibilities: Regularly required to work in outdoor weather conditions, wear PPE including but not limited to respirator, eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection.
Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
Frequently required to work in extreme heat (non-weather) Occasionally required to work in confined spaces, wet, humid conditions (non-weather), vibration, working at heights of 4’ or more with fall protection.
Occasionally exposed to loud noise.
Regularly required to sit.
Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
Occasionally required to drive.
Rarely required to climb or balance.
Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
Rarely required to lift up to 15 pounds.
